Depression in Black Gay Men

I remember a time when I was depressed – it was a time that I never ever want to revisit, and I hope no one has to endure. Depression is a disease that cripples people of all walks of life. Award winning Journalist Antoine Craigwell has been creating safe spaces for men of African decent to discuss and support one another.

On May 17 he will moderate a discussion “Being Black and Gay: Struggles with HIV and Depression” at Riverside church in New York city. If you live in NYC or know someone who does, please help spread the word… it may save a life.

I was a part of the uni aum Entertainment team for the 2008 AIDS Walk in New York City, I was really happy to see how many high school kids out walking and being aware of this disease and raising money to help fight this tragedy. Check out the pics below:)

2 of my friends, James and Donovan, passed on because of AIDS. I wanted to pay tribute to their memory in the best way I knew how – with music. “James Donovan” is the result. I will always remember my two friends.
