Highlights from the 2009 OUTMusic Awards aired on LOGO’s NewNowNext Poplab.  Below is a video clip of my favorite OMA moments and my feelings about being the first black male to win an OMA.  You can catch all the highlights at www.logoonline.com.

I’m really excited about sharing this music video with you – it screened this year in the Sundance Queer Lounge along with other gay videos.  Kirk Shannon-Butts did a great job capturing the beauty and essence of “Love” ~ in order to obtain the slow motion effect, I had to learn to sing at double speed… lol – but it was so much fun.

“Love” is theme song for Kirk’s film “Blueprint” (which premiered at Cannes Film Festival last year:)  A big thank you to Adrian Lopez and Houston Street Production.  Let me know what you think of it:)

Music is the song I’m singing… Music is the way I’m giving… Music gives my life the meaning… Music makes my world go round… This is a performance of “Music” at the 2009 All Out Jazz Tribute to LGBT Jazz Greats.

The Barbados Music Awards was such a magical night. R&B legend Regina Belle was sitting in the audience (I heard she took a picture of me while I was performing). A big thank you to Walter Greene and Ronnie Morris for making this happen, and for Kirk Shannon-Butts for great styling.

I had a great time talking with Cassandra on Good Morning Barbados TV, I didn’t enjoy getting up at 4:30 AM to videotape the show… lol, but the experience was truly amazing. A big thank you to Ingrid:)

Michael Jackson was such an incredible artist, I just had to pay tribute to his phenomenal talent and gift. I complied some of my favorite Michael Jackson photographs and placed them to the song I believe best fits what MJJ’s life stood for.

“In this body, nature’s body, I’ve found my soul” ~ This is a celebration of Spirituality in all its forms.

This piece is based on the Rabindranath Tagore’s quote “This is the ultimate end of man, to find the One which is in him; which is his truth, which is his soul; the key with which he opens the gate of the spiritual life, the heavenly kingdom.” I hope you enjoy.

Here’s another hero of mine. When Maxwell came out in the 90’s, it really gave me inspiration to do music as I felt it and heard it in my heart.  To me he exemplifies a true artist.  I wish him continued success and much happiness:)

I’ve always been a big fan of Janet Jackson, and one of the things that always strikes me about her is her beautiful smile.  So I complied some of my favorite pictures of Janet’s smile and used my song “I like that…” Enjoy:)

“They call it Stormy Monday” – when I first heard Bobby Blue Bland singing this song, I knew I had to perform it. I’m in love with the blues now… lol I performed this at the Verve show at the Brooklyn Society of Ethical Culture.
