EVENT DETAILS: JAM 2015 will feature San Diego based jazz guitarist Peter Sprague and New York based jazz and soul vocalist Nhojj. Both are accomplished musicians who have received numerous awards and recognition within the music industry. A mixer at the end of the concert will give you an opportunity to mingle with the artists.
Peter Sprague is a world class jazz guitarist, composer, and arranger, who has his own record label and recording studio. Peter has shared the stage with jazz greats Chick Corea, Dianna Reeves, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Al Jarreau and David Benoit to name a few. He was awarded Best Jazz Musician on numerous occasions including by the San Diego Reader in 2000 and 2003 and by the San Diego Music Awards in 2004 and 2007.
Nhojj‘s mission is to ‘make the world better one song at a time’. Nhojj was born in Guyana, South America, and developed his music career in New York City. Nhojj brings his joy for life and innate sense of rhythm and beauty to the world of music. Nhojj’s singing spans many styles, ranging from R&B to Jazz and has shared the stage with icons such as Norah Jones, Regina Belle and Diana King. Nhojj is the winner of multiple music awards in the US.
Drug Discovery for Tropical Diseases (DDTD) is a unique non-profit (501c3) venture based in San Diego, CA, with a mission “to discover new treatments and diagnostics for neglected tropical diseases”. These diseases have been typically neglected from research and development efforts due to the perceived lack of profitability and are commonly referred to as Neglected Tropical Diseases or NTDs.
